Robyn has been a mutual friend of mine for many years but it wasn’t until recently that I got to know and love her. We immediately clicked thanks to our similar personalities and am super bummed that they recently made the move to Las Vegas for Keegan’s job. Luckily, with our group being full of nomads, I still get to see my distant friends often. This past July a group of 10 of us, organized by my good friends Jona & Jerry, made a trip out to Croatia to enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine. Initially, we weren’t planning on doing a big session, just a few photos at sunrise to capture the beauty of Split without a swarm of tourists. However, I was so inspired at 5am by this charming city that I couldn’t help myself to continue on, dragging them around and up to the top of the hill for 2 hours. We can all agree though that it was absolutely worth the post shoot exhaustion and nothing that a nap on the beach couldn’t cure. I am so happy to have gotten to know both of them even better on this trip and look forward to not only visiting them in their new home but also shooting their wedding day in one of my favorite cities, San Francisco, next May.

I am thankful to find myself in Washington D.C. once or twice a year, I’ve grown to love this metropolis and the its’ photogenic architecture. Jen & Aaron found me thanks to Deirdre & Beau’s New Orleans wedding a few years ago. Their wedding was at the Carnegie Institution for Science but we made sure to venture out the Lincoln Memorial for portraits before the ceremony. So many tears shed, beautiful couple, and iconic backdrops made this wedding feast for my artistic soul. Thank you again Jen & Aaron for bring me out to D.C. to be a part of your big day.

If I haven’t said it enough, I am incredibly grateful and appreciative for the interesting people I have met throughout my career. While Erin is from Texas, I didn’t actually get to meet her & Felix until we were bunked up at the Schloss Eckberg castle in the middle of December. It was very cold for my Texan blood but the Christmas market was in full force so I had plenty of mulled wine to warm me up. Christmas time in Germany is beyond charming, combine that with an adorable love story and my heart was ready to explode. Felix is from Germany, in a town not far from Dresden, but they met in a bar in El Paso, TX of all places. The German military has taken him all over but that didn’t slow them down, Erin made sure to travel to wherever he ended up stationed. Their ceremony was sweet and heartfelt but what I will never forget is the amount of love that was poured into every speech given. When I say there was not a dry eye in the house/castle, I mean it, including me. Erin’s two brothers totally melted my heart. Since the sun set at 4pm on the wedding day, we went back out for more photos of the two of them in Dresden a couple days later. MAJOR props to Erin for looking warm in all the photos considering it was a chilly 35 degrees that day. That night her family took all of us out to a traditional German dinner that ended in the hotel spa with champagne. This was one hell of a weekend I will never ever forget. Can we do it again some time? Special thanks to Tricia Hamil for helping the day run smoothly & for making it more beautiful.

Christine and Travis currently live in Austin, TX which is how they found me. We had their engagement session at one of my favorite Austin parks, Zilker park, as well as a bottle of champagne with their dog at their home nearby. They are originally from California and decided to have a destination wedding in the beautiful Sonoran desert because it is one of Christine’s favorite places in this world. Loews Ventana Resort has a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot, an outdoor cocktail & dinner area, then after the desert’s cool air rolled in, they moved the party inside for dancing. Christine & Travis are avid travelers, highly intelligent people, and know how to get down on the dance floor, basically my favorite kind of people. I’ve been traveling to Arizona to see family for the last 20 years so it was an absolute honor to finally get a chance to photograph one of the amazing sunsets going over the Sentinel Peak.
