If I haven’t said it enough, I am incredibly grateful and appreciative for the interesting people I have met throughout my career. While Erin is from Texas, I didn’t actually get to meet her & Felix until we were bunked up at the Schloss Eckberg castle in the middle of December. It was very cold for my Texan blood but the Christmas market was in full force so I had plenty of mulled wine to warm me up. Christmas time in Germany is beyond charming, combine that with an adorable love story and my heart was ready to explode. Felix is from Germany, in a town not far from Dresden, but they met in a bar in El Paso, TX of all places. The German military has taken him all over but that didn’t slow them down, Erin made sure to travel to wherever he ended up stationed. Their ceremony was sweet and heartfelt but what I will never forget is the amount of love that was poured into every speech given. When I say there was not a dry eye in the house/castle, I mean it, including me. Erin’s two brothers totally melted my heart. Since the sun set at 4pm on the wedding day, we went back out for more photos of the two of them in Dresden a couple days later. MAJOR props to Erin for looking warm in all the photos considering it was a chilly 35 degrees that day. That night her family took all of us out to a traditional German dinner that ended in the hotel spa with champagne. This was one hell of a weekend I will never ever forget. Can we do it again some time? Special thanks to Tricia Hamil for helping the day run smoothly & for making it more beautiful.

Kristin & Alejandro are some of the most easy going people I’ve ever met and I was lucky to be available for the wedding in August just 4 months out. Even with the large probability of rain, Kristin always remained in high spirits and was willing to get drenched in her wedding dress for some great photos. Their traditional Catholic ceremony at La Merced started right at sunset and left us leaving right at the beautiful time of twilight. Las Capuchinas was lit up with color for the reception and was the perfect reception venue to show off the amazing historic architecture Antigua, Guatemala has. The reception ended at 11 but we continued photos, utilizing the rainy weather to our benefit. I’ll never forget rolling down the streets of Antigua with the bride, groom, & his parents in back with their good friend driving and his wife scrunched in the middle blaring “El Taxi” by Pitbull with the windows down at midnight.

When you’re in school, elementary/middle/high school, it’s difficult to imagine who you’ll still be in touch with after so many years of growing up. You never really know where people are going to end up. I say this because Alison & I go as far back as being in middle school choir together, I still remember Silent Night in German. It’s always a comforting blast from the past to be contacted by people you knew in what feels like a past life. Alison & Minh have since had a son, named Theo, who proved to be an adorable addition to their engagement & wedding day photos at the Barr Mansion. You wouldn’t know it from how warm & happy they look but this Saturday in February was indeed the coldest day of winter, not to mention wet! They were in great spirits though only focusing on what was most important on this day, their marriage & commitment to each other.
