Two weddings for one couple in the Pacific Northwest
Cannon Beach & Brown Family Homestead
I've probably said it before but it is worth reiterating how special it is to be invited to photograph a fellow wedding photographer's wedding. (One that is incredibly talented at that - Logan Westom, check them out). Logan had been following my work since the beginning days of my business through a fellow wedding photographer friend. We had not met prior to the wedding but He contacted me once he and Allie got engaged knowing I was a huge fan of destination weddings. They both live outside of Seattle, so it wasn't as far of a destination for them but a destination none-the-less. They invited their family to a small church ceremony in Cannon Beach, OR before heading to Leavenworth, WA to have a larger ceremony and celebration at the Brown Family Homestead. The day before the wedding we also got to attend the Oktoberfest in the nearby German inspired downtown of Leavenworth. Arriving back to the wedding venue, we encountered my first bear sitting, running just 10 feet in front of our car after likely scouting for food left over from the rehearsal. I had a lot of first experiences with this wedding, the first time my client lost a cellphone into the ocean during portraits for example, as well as the first time I got to wake up in the same household as my clients the morning of the wedding, not to mention one of the top 5 best sunsets I've seen of my life. All fond memories that feel like yesterday but have now since been just shy of a year ago. These two share a sense of adventure and passion for life that I will always be inspired by. Thank you again Allie & Logan, for being a part of these memories and please come visit me in Denver some time :)
