Colorado engagement session locations

These locations are some of the best spots to have your engagement photos taken in Colorado. All of them are over an hour away from Denver and up to 4 hours away.

1. Lake Dillon

(1 hour 15 minutes from Denver) - Lake Dillon itself is has many spectacular views of the water and the mountains surrounding. There are many spots surrounding the lake that are also nice and secluded.

2. Echo Lake

(1 hour 5 minutes from Denver) - It’s a windy road up to Echo lake (a little tricky in the winter) but it’s another beautiful lake with even more beautiful mountain views.

3. Sapphire Point

(1 hour 30 minutes from Denver) - Sapphire Point is one of the more touristy spots around Silverthorne but it is one of the best spots for an overlook of Lake Dillon. While there is plenty of walkways and views to avoid a crowd, I don’t recommend this spot on summer weekend evenings as it’s also a popular elopement spot that can be reserved.

4. Kenosha Pass

(1 hour 20 minutes from Denver) - The pass is known for being one of the best roads to see the leaves changing colors during Colorado’s shift to fall. While it’s less of a designated spot and more of an area of spots, there are many options along the way of open fields & Aspen forests.

5. Guanella Pass

(1 hour 25 minutes from Denver) - Queue many of the same sentiments as above but add more access to rivers.

16. Garden of the Gods

(1 hour 15 minutes from Denver) - One of Colorado’s most iconic spots and with good reason. Be prepared to work around tourists and pay a professional photography fee to be shooting inside the park.
