Hotel El Convento Wedding

After a few missed connections in New York we did not have a chance to meet up with Melissa & David until the rehearsal dinner, 2 days before their wedding, aka Halloween. We immediately felt at home with these two, visiting their "Justin Bieber suite" (he had stayed there the week prior) and drinking champagne in the hotel lobby and subsequently missing a chance to meet Ryan Philipe. Their wedding took place at the San Juan Cathedral located right across the street from their reception at the Hotel El Convento, a hotel we have visited in the past for Camillia & Will's Puerto Rico wedding. The weather was teasing us with possibilities of rain or sunshine but after a little rain during the first look the skies cleared in time for us to make our way to the San Cristobal for portraits. The ceremony was filled with laughs and tears and Mel & Dave rolled with the punches despite the language barrier. The cocktail was the perfect way to kick off the reception, complete with a huge pig roast! The party went until the wee hours of the morning and ended with 3am pizza at the rooftop hot tub. Puerto Rico is still one of our favorite places to shoot and Mel & Dave made what was already a beautiful scene even more amazing.
